Glossop YET (Youth Engagement Team) Weekly Roundup from 12th to 15th May |

PCSO Buller from Glossop YET (Youth Engagement Team) has completed the following input/events in Glossop this week.
Firstly, on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings this week he has completed an Assembly for each year group 7,8,9 and 10 at Glossopdale School, Newshaw Lane, Hadfield. On ‘Shattered’ - Derbyshire Constabularies bespoke input for secondary school students on Knife Crime Awareness.
This involved discussing :- What do we mean when we say knife crime! Excuses for carrying a knife Getting to the point The Law & Consequences – Who does this effect? What can you do? Promoting Fearless & How to report Knife Crime By speaking to teachers or other trusted adults – Speak to a Police Officer or PCSO if seen out on patrol or in school – call 999 if it’s an emergency. On Tuesday afternoon he had been invited to attend St Margarets CVA Primary School, Gamesley to complete an input on ‘Group Chats’ for their year 5 students. Followed by an input on ‘Cyber Safety’ for their year 3 and 4 students. Our monthly Lunch time drop-in sessions were completed this week at Glossopdale School (on Wednesday 13th May) and then at Saint Philip Howard CVA, Glossop ( Thursday 14th May) – giving the team a chance to engage with the young people at each school during their down time.
Whilst at Saint Philip Howard School on Thursday he also completed an input on ASB for their Yr 9 students (males only) regarding some issues raised by the school for that peer group..
Simmondley Primary School and then the Duke of Norfolk Primary school were visited in the morning and the midafternoon of Friday 15th May - to enable the team to complete an input on Anti-Social Behaviour, ASB (Good Choice/Bad Choice) with their Yr 6 students.
Lastly the team completed an Early Intervention Clinic at Glossop Police Station in the early evening on Friday 15th May – involving a young person ad parent as a part of the Restorative Justice Resolution for crime and ASB.
Glossop YET would like to thank the headteachers and staff from each of the above schools for the allowing and their assistance in the presentations to their students this week
